We're more than happy to send you sample packs which include example labels made from various adhesives, finishes and materials, and can also send examples of various standard materials.
There are a variety of requirements for artwork in order to achieve the best quality print.
Please refer to the 'Artwork Questions' section of this FAQ, or to the various artwork related links on the current support page.

Artwork proofing is an important stage of the label ordering process. It ensures that we've interpreted your requirements and artwork correctly, and gives you opportunity to ask for clarification or correct any errors.
We'll use the artwork proof you sign off as a reference point for checking the label at each stage of production, so it's very important that it is checked carefully.
We're able to print a variety of variable data using different print processes, but there are some limitations.
Some of the variable data we can print includes consecutive numbering, non consecutive numbering, variable and non variable barcodes and QR codes, plus alphanumeric codes or text. We can also print variations in images, pictures and design using our Digital press.
Sometimes due to the combination of a print process, materials and artwork design, there may be some additional limitations which aren't detailed on this page.
When creating your bespoke quotation, our team will ask a variety of questions to ensure that they have all the information they need, and will flag up any potential problems. Click here to request your free bespoke quotation.
We recommend checking every part of the artwork proof, from the label itself to the details listed below it, and any presentation information. If you need the labels to be any different to what's shown, make sure to get in touch with our team and let them know.
We've put together an artwork proofing checklist, which is great as a reference point to use - no matter if you're new to ordering labels or have been doing so for years. Click here to view the Artwork Proofing Checklist (PDF).
Depending on the requirement, there may be a degree of flexibility that means we can still make your labels. For example, we recommend that digital prints use 300 DPI images for best results, but we can print lower quality. Alternatively, we state that we can't print very small text on our Hot Foil press, which is because the print will merge together.
We stock a variety of materials with different adhesives and finishes that are most popular with our customers.
Some combinations which aren't displayed as a standard option may still be available, so get in touch with our team if you can't find what you're looking for.
Other combinations may not be available due to limitations in the manufacturing process.
If you've thoroughly checked your artwork proof and are happy to give your approval for print, simply respond to our proof email saying that you're happy for us to proceed to production.
We'll then put the order on our system, and start the process of making your labels.
We have increasing availability for different labels that have sustainable properties. Many of our standard materials are already recyclable or have sustainable origins (eg. FSC Certification), details of which are provided in our material specifications.
More information about full range of sustainable label options, including current availability of biodegradble, compostable and recyclable label options are available on our sustainable labels page.
Some materials may not be compatible with all of our print processes due to their inability to withstand certain temperatures or accept different forms of print. Our material specifications detail a basic summary of compatibility.
If your artwork proof has any errors, mistakes or issues, then please reply to the proofing email with a list of amendments that need making. Our team will then make these changes and send a new proof to you. This process will be repeated as many times as needed.
Even if the final amendment is just a small change from the previous version, we recommend you do a full re-check of the proof before giving approval for production.
We have a variety of label materials, adhesives and finishes which meet different internaitonal specifications and regulations, including BS5609. For more information of our availability please contact us.
If you notice an error or want to make any changes after you've approved the artwork, please let us know as soon as possible.
We're normally pretty speedy at preparing for production, so unfortunately we cannot guarantee that we will be able to make amendments without additional charges being incurred.
We'll let you know what stage of production your labels are at and the various options available.
